Back to Base—return from Canada

I'm back in the UK after what has been an incredible year working within the most amazing mountain resorts in British Columbia. Just in time for Winter 2013/14, I'm taking a little time to figure out my next leap. I've come back down to earth with a bit of a bump admittedly- I've managed to travel from Whistler up to Mount Robson, through the Canadian Rockies to Banff and back through the Okanagan Valley in the last few weeks of my time there. It's epic terrain and an utterly phenomenal country so to leave it all behind has been quite an emotional wrench for me. I am thankful however, that I can take the experience of a lifetime away with me, coupled with incredible friendships and affirmation that mountain sports is the life for me, and the direction I'm going to continue to head.

It hasn't always been sunshine and lollipops however, there have been times where I questioned my choices, motives and whether I would know what it was like to be warm ever again. As part of the Outdoor Events Team at Big White Ski Resort we built and managed events at one of the best Terrain Parks in Canada. We hosted Athletes from all over the world, in a variety of disciplines but predominantly in Boarder Cross and Freestyle. We welcomed Athletes at all levels including Youth, Para-athletes and World Cup level competitors - all in preparation for Sochi 2014. It was beyond hard work and I'm incredibly proud to have been a part of it. Here's a selection of photos from Big White TELUS Park 2013....
